Introduction

Sanofi Diabetes Academy is a scientific collaboration between Sanofi and the American Diabetes Association (ADA), who developed the content. It is a one stop destination that provides comprehensive information on diabetes management, in line with the latest standards of care.

We aim to help improve prediabetes, diabetes and cardiometabolic care through innovative education for healthcare professionals.

The Need

Diabetes is one of the largest global health emergencies of the 21st century.

  • In 2019, 463 million people are suffering from diabetes worldwide.
  • 1 in every 11 adults has diabetes. 1 in every 2 adults with diabetes are undiagnosed.
  • 20 million women are affected by hyperglycaemia during pregnancy, 84% of which have gestational diabetes.

Moreover, the number of people with diabetes is increasing in almost every country at an alarming rate.

ADA is a nonprofit that seeks to educate the public about diabetes and to help those affected by it by funding research to manage, cure and prevent diabetes. It also includes clinical practice recommendations and is intended to provide the components of diabetes care, general treatment goals and guidelines, and tools to evaluate quality of care.

ADA has provided the curriculum of the course and will offer an individual certificate of completion to the users at the end of the program.

Evaluations

There are 4 surveys across the course that will be used to evaluate your progress of this course. The first survey will be given right before you start this course. This survey will give us an understanding of your baseline knowledge on diabetes. There will be one survey in between the 3 sub-courses and one survey at the end of the 3rd course. The final survey will happen few months after the course is over.

Additionally, each module contains interactive exercises to test your learning.
